At around 4:52 p.m. on September 20, New Bedford Police responded to 86 Atlantic Street for a reported stabbing. They arrived and found a 31-year-old New Bedford woman, later identified as Kerri Fidalgo, suffering from apparent stab wounds.
Fidalgo was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The D.A.’s Office said she had been living in an apartment at that address.
In December 2019, a Tyler Baglini of Dartmouth who is the same age was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly assaulting his then-spouse multiple times over a six-month period.
He was indicted then on charges of domestic first degree sexual assault, domestic assault by strangulation and two counts of domestic simple assault and battery.
