New Bedford Woman Allegedly Found With 70 Grams of Crack Cocaine in Car
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Massachusetts State Police arrested a New Bedford woman after allegedly finding nearly 70 grams of crack cocaine in her car during a traffic stop.
According to state police, on August 17 at around 12:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling Route 24 northbound in Bridgewater. During that time, the trooper observed a black Cadillac sedan driving with a revoked registration for being uninsured.
During the ensuing traffic stop, state police said that Daria Cananzey, 28, was in the vehicle's passenger seat, moving around and ducking out of sight.
Police searched Cananzey and found her to allegedly be in possession of nearly 70 grams of crack and cocaine hidden in her sweatshirt. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Middleboro barracks.
The vehicle was towed from the scene for being unregistered and uninsured.
Cananzey was scheduled to be arraigned in Brockton District Court on cocaine trafficking charges.
