State Representative Antonio F.D. Cabral (D-New Bedford) announced Tuesday that Nameplates for Industry (NFI Corp.) has been awarded a $3,750 grant from the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development (EOHED) in partnership with the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE).

This manufacturing matching grant will allow NFI Corp., a New Bedford nameplate and printed graphics business, to hire a sales training consultant.

“For some small businesses, vital consulting services are hard to come by,” said State Representative Antonio F.D. Cabral (D-New Bedford). “This grant will help bridge that gap for NFI Corp., enabling them to expand their business and, thus, their contributions to our local economy.”

“Massachusetts has a strong commitment to advancing manufacturing throughout the state,” said State Representative Paul Schmid (D-Westport). “I am thrilled that NFI Corp. and the SouthCoast will be able to benefit from this grant program and I look forward to seeing how they are able to grow their company. A special thank you to the Baker-Polito Administration, EOHED, and SBANE for recognizing the importance of this investment.”

SBANE’s Manufacturing Matching Grant Program provides funding opportunities for small and medium-sized Massachusetts-based manufacturers.
