New Bedford Again Top Fishing Port Dollar-Wise In U.S.

New Bedford is again the top port in the nation when it comes to the dollar-value of fish landed here.

NOAA Fisheries says landings in New Bedford last year generated a dollar value of $322 million, thanks mainly to its lucrative scallop industry..

Dutch Harbor, Alaska was second, with a value of $218 million.

Its the 16th straight year New Bedford has topped all U.S.fishing ports in dollar value.
