NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — An arrest has been made this morning in New Bedford in connection to the August 4 homicide of Aaron Britto.

Anthony Jalo, 21, of New Bedford, was arrested without incident and will be arraigned on a charge of murder later this morning in New Bedford District Court.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said New Bedford Police received a 911 call at around 1:37 a.m. on August 4 from residents on Earle Street who heard gunshots and found the victim suffering from multiple injuries.

The victim, later identified as Aaron Britto, 44, of New Bedford, was initially located in the grass, between the rear of Morna Lounge and Grill and a residence at 234 Earle Street.

He was rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, New Bedford Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors continue to investigate Britto's homicide.
