NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Joe Jesus’ 50s Night will take over downtown New Bedford on Thursday and once again WBSM is providing the soundtrack for the big shindig.

Beginning at 3 p.m. on July 18, we will be broadcasting nothing but the music of the 1950s – with limited commercial interruption – as you get ready to head downtown to see all the vintage cars, performances and fun planned for 50s Night.

You’ll be able to listen to the music of the greatest decade, whether on 1420 AM, 99.5 FM, wbsm.com or on the WBSM app.

WBSM will also be outside of the Family Dollar on Purchase Street, so come by and say hello. We’ll also have your chance to enter to win concert tickets.

This very special radio broadcast to accompany Joe Jesus’ 50s Night is made possible through the very cool cats and kittens at Elite Auto Detailing, Advanced Financial Group, Lech Garage & Auto Body, Empire Ford of Fall River and New Bedford, and Market Basket.

New Bedford's '50s Night Over the Years

Joe Jesus' '50s Night was a longtime staple of New Bedford's summer schedule with 29 straight years until road construction held it off in 2018. It came back in 2019 following Joe's passing, but it missed 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It made a triumphant return in 2022 and is set to become an annual tradition once again. Take a look at '50s Night over the years.
