Did you hear the latest "legislation" story that will have you singing that insurance jingle, "Like a good neighbor" ... I get the concept of "Love Thy Neighbor," but Rhode Island is about to flip that around. Democrats in the Rhode Island General Assembly have passed a law that will require home owners to prune up or pay up! In other words, folks there will be required to prune their shrubbery and trees or face a hefty fine of $500 bucks if the leaves fall from your trees onto your neighbor's yard! I'm choking with laughter as I write this! I just hope they don't have any windy days where the entire block's neighbors are complicit in this transgression! Forget common sense, and forget nanny state government, because they've succeeded to make Mr. Rogers do a 360 in his grave!

According to ABC 6, "the Rhode Island Senate has passed a bill that would require Rhode Islanders to prune their shrubbery and trees or face a $500 fine if plant litter lands on someone else's property."

Senators voted 26-6 on Tuesday to pass the bill.

The bill would require homeowners to control any debris created by trees or shrubs if it is an inconvenience to an abutting property owner.

What will this "brilliant" legislation accomplish? "The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind!"
