"When Jaws was filmed, the directors and creators really wanted to make it feel like they're on Martha's Vineyard, going into the culture and current trends on the island," Hope Huban, Community Manager at Narragansett Brewing said.

Narragansett Beer Has Its Moment

It's been 50 years since Jaws first premiered, featuring the views of Martha's Vineyard and a local brewery.

"They saw that locals were drinking Narragansett beer and so that's how they chose Narragansett to be in the movie," Huban said.

The selection of 'Gansett led to the iconic "crush it like Quint" moment. Over the years, it's become a trend which still goes strong today.

"We'll see videos of people crushing it in their hand and posting on social media or paying tribute when they're watching the movie," Huban said.

Jaws 1975 Cans Make Their Return

It wouldn't be a celebration without the beer, of course. The iconic can seen in the film is making a comeback.

"We just launched our Jaws 1975 30 racks and cans," Huban said.

Keep a close eye on your can, because it may be extra special.

"If you get a 30-rack with a can that has a sticker on it, you'll be entered to win a trip to Martha's Vineyard in the early fall," Huban said. "You get to stay at a hotel, get a tour of Jaws. It's a wonderful giveaway that we're doing."
