Multi-Vehicle Crash at New Bedford High School Under Investigation
NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating a crash involving multiple vehicles at New Bedford High School Wednesday morning.
The New Bedford Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash before 8 a.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot of the New Bedford High School on Hathaway Boulevard.
Lt. Nathaniel Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the New Bedford Police Department, confirms that one vehicle had apparently struck four or five other vehicles in the parking lot, causing a significant amount of damage.
One of the vehicles had begun to leak fuel as a result of the accident. New Bedford firefighters were able to stop the leak and contain the fuel before it was removed.
No injuries were reported.
Further details were not immediately available.
The aftermath of the accident required the use of a Big Wheel tow truck to separate a vehicle that had become wedged under an SUV.
