Mohegan Sun says it has struck deals with seven surrounding communities as it pursues a $1.3 billion resort casino on land owned by Suffolk Downs in Revere. The companies announced on that agreements, or agreements in principle, had been reached with officials in Cambridge, Chelsea, Lynn, Malden, Medford, Melrose and Salem.Officials say the deals would provide a combined $3.75 million to offset local impacts from the casino. Residents and small businesses in the seven communities to job opportunities and economic development if the casino is built. Mohegan Sun has not yet reached a surrounding community agreement with the city of Boston. The Revere proposal emerged after voters in the East Boston neighborhood rejected an earlier proposal by Suffolk Downs for a casino that straddled the Boston-Revere border.
