Mayor Jon Mitchell is proposing a new City ordinance to crack down on landlords, if police are regular visitors to their properties.  The mayor announced the "Problem Properties" ordinance outside 31 Ashley Street, a long time headache for city officials.  Mitchell says the ordinance, if passed would allow the City to bill landlords for the cost of police responding to their properties.....

Loretta Bourque of the Cove Street Neighborhood Association says certain properties have visits from police year-round, and she's tired of it.....

Under the ordinance landlords would be billed for the cost of police visits, or the number of reported code violations that total more than six.
