FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — In the heart of Fairhaven, excitement brewed this morning as Mirasol's celebrated the grand opening of its new cafe.

The second location of the beloved cafe promises to become the new spot for coffee lovers, pastry enthusiasts and for all SouthCoast residents.

Over the past two years, construction has been ongoing on the new building on People's Way. The town has been buzzing, and as the ribbon cutting took place this morning, locals gathered to welcome the new business.

With the doors officially open, Luis Raposa, owner of  Mirasol's, is ready for Fairhaven to be part of the Chippi phenomenon.

"I really appreciate the support of Fairhaven throughout the whole process and bringing Chippi directly to Fairhaven. We have been looking forward to that," he said. "It was a team effort. A lot of people contributed, and they did a phenomenal job throughout the process."

As the two-year building process ends and business is finally underway, Raposa and the rest of the team are excited to see how Mirasol's will enhance the neighborhood.

"We look forward to being part of the community," Raposa said

The cafe mirrors the original location's design, a decision established in the beginning stages. It is just as spacious for indoor seating, but its patio offers more options for outdoor dining.

Outside the building is a drive-thru, another addition customers have desired. We can't promise a shorter wait time, but a drive-thru sure does beat any hassle during that morning commute. You can also place mobile orders to get ahead of the traffic.

If you can't wait to get in and check out the new spot, keep scrolling to see grand opening pictures.

Mirasol's hours remain the same as its original Dartmouth location, open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
