MIDDLEBORO (WBSM) — A Boston man was arrested and faces drug and other charges following a rollover crash Thursday on Interstate 495 in Middleboro.

Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a rollover crash on I-495 southbound in Middleboro in the early afternoon of August 8.

Troopers arrived to find the vehicle had rolled over and were told an occupant of the vehicle may have been ejected during the crash into the woods.

Troopers interviewed the two occupants of the vehicle, neither of whom were ejected and sustained no injuries. According to state police, there were “inconsistencies” in their stories. They said that, “combined with the reports of a person in the woods, and the discovery of a large amount of U.S. currency banded in smaller denominations, led troopers to request a K-9 to respond for a search of any potential narcotics evidence.”

The K-9 located in the woods a plastic bag containing suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine. State police said in total, about 38 grams of fentanyl and 14 grams of crack were seized.

The driver of the vehicle, Djosue DosSantos, 25, of Boston, was placed under arrest. A 17-year-old juvenile passenger was released into the custody of their parents and will be summonsed to court for criminal charges at a later date.

DosSantos is charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was arraigned in Wareham District Court on Thursday.
