Stanley Mickelson has won a third term on the Dartmouth Select Board.

Mickelson defeated a last-minute write-in challenge by businessman Steven Burgo in Tuesday's annual town election.

The unofficial numbers released by the Dartmouth Town Clerk's Office showed Mickelson with 900 Votes and Burgo with 818.

Burgo is the founder and president of the Burgo Basketball Association in Dartmouth.

Burgo said he was prompted to run after hearing complaints from residents who told him they have been "disrespected" by members of the board.

There were no other contested races on the ballot.

The election was originally scheduled for April but was pushed back to June because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There were 1,780 ballots cast Tuesday in Dartmouth, a turnout of 7.7 percent.
