Meteorologist Chelsea Priest Shares Her Engagement Story
A familiar voice on Fun 107 got engaged over the weekend. Congratulations to ABC6 meteorologist Chelsea Priest. Here's how her fiancé popped the question.
While we all were able to get out and enjoy the nice weather this weekend, Chelsea and her new fiancé, Jonathan, decided to take a trip over to picturesque Block Island.
The two were walking along a stone wall close to their hotel when Jonathan used his creativity to ask Chelsea to marry him.
In case you aren't familiar, a company called "The Glass Station" run by Ebon Horton creates glass floats that look similar to a globe about the size of an orange. There are 550 stamped, dated and hidden each year throughout Block Island. Hunting for one of these orbs is a wildly popular activity for tourists on the island.
Chelsea told us this morning, "I always look for them, but have never found one." Jonathan, however, had a plan. He contacted Horton and asked to have a very special orb created that had the words "Will you marry me?" tucked inside.
Jonathan asked the hotel to hide the float in this stone wall so that when they went on their walk, she could find it. The plan worked perfectly, and Jonathan was able to get down on one knee and present Chelsea with her ring.
I asked Chelsea if she had picked a wedding date yet. She hasn't. I thought, however, that this could be vital information for anyone planning a wedding next year. Wouldn't it be smart to pick the same date as the local meteorologist? You know Chelsea is going to put in some weather research on that one.
Congratulations to Chelsea and Jonathan on their very special day.
