The Freetown Planning Board approved the site plan review of the proposed "Massachusetts Medical Cannabis Center," Tuesday night, by a unanimous vote.

The center, whose production is being spearheaded by Americann Company, will initally be a site for the growing, processing and shipping of medical marijuana.

Americann Company is looking to purchase the 52-acre parcel on Campanelli Drive in Freetown by the end of the year.

Speaking on the approval from the Planning Board, Americann Company CEO Tim Keough said that his firm's next step will be to organize construction documents to file for building permits.
