Mayor Jon Mitchell says New Bedford will proudly honor its veterans during Memorial Day ceremonies.

The city's Memorial Day Parade will step off from Parker Street and Hathaway Boulevard at 11:30am on Monday, and conclude at Clasky Park in New Bedford.

Following the parade, a ceremony will be held in the middle of the park, featuring keynote speaker and North End resident Eddie Mcclain.  Mitchell says Mcclain was a World War two paratrooper, who was among the first to land in Normandy during the D-Day invasion...

Following the main ceremony, a salute to Korean War veterans will also be held at Clasky Park.
