After eight months of repairs at the Fairhaven Shipyard, the Mayflower II left New Bedford Harbor at 5 Wednesday morning.

The vessel was expected at the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal at around 9am.

The vessel passed its Coast Guard safety inspection on Tuesday after new planking and a rudder were installed on the ship.

The Mayflower II is expected to arrive back at its home port around 12:30 today.
