The family tradition continues as New Bedford resident Marlena Johnson made it through to the next round of "American Idol."

Johnson, the sister of former "America's Got Talent" contestant Samantha Johnson, was placed in a group performing their own rendition of the Bee Gees hit "Staying Alive."

Her performance was not without challenges, according to the Standard Times, as her group only had two of the required three until the last minute and she forgot some of the song's words.

However, she was able to cover with panache and scored some points with the judges.

"American Idol", which is in it's final season, airs weekly on FOX on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
