Employees of the Market Basket supermarket chain and their supporters are rallying at company headquarters again in support of the former chief executive.

Hundreds of people showed up at the Tewksbury facility on Monday morning to call for the reinstatement of fired CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.

An estimated 2,000 people rallied on Friday, leading to the weekend firing of eight longtime employees.

The company said in a statement that eight employees were fired because ``Their actions continued to harm the company, negatively impacted customers, and inhibited associates' ability to perform their jobs.''

Meanwhile, some Market Basket stores started running out of food as deliveries had stopped on Friday. The chain has 71 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

Seventeen Massachusetts lawmakers have called for a boycott of the company.
