A Norton man has been arrested following a deadly rollover crash in Mansfield on Monday.

Massachusetts State Police say that shortly before 11 a.m. the driver of a 2007 Ford Ranger, identified as 67-year-old Michael Hinds, got into a "road rage" type incident with the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pickup, identified in media reports as as 37-year-old Jarrad Arrone.

An investigation determined that Hinds made intentional contact with Arrone's truck as both vehicles traveled on I-495 North.

There was another collision involving both vehicles near the Exit 12 ramp that caused Arrone's Chevrolet to rollover on the ramp.

Hinds then fled the scene.

Arrone was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man who was also a passenger in Arrone's vehicle was transported via medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.

Hinds was later arrested at his Norton home and transported to the State Police Barracks in Foxboro where he is being held on $200,000 bail.

He will be arraigned in Attleboro District Court Tuesday morning on charges of Motor Vehicle Homicide While Under the Influence of Liquor; Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Motor Vehicle); Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, 2nd Offense; Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving a Death; Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Serious Injury; Operating to Endanger; and Possession of Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.

The incident is being investigated by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section and detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
