Lexington Minute Men Launch Recruitment Campaign
Have you ever watched a historic battle reenactment and thought it might be fun to be a part of it? This may be your opportunity to join up.
The famed Lexington Minute Men are seeking recruits to fight yesterday's battles way into the future.
Fresh from the wildly successful reenactment of the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington – the beginning of the American Revolution – the Lexington Minute Men's website announced "a new recruitment campaign to enlist the next generation of men and women who will proudly serve to keep the history of American liberty alive for the 275th and 300th anniversaries, and beyond."
About the Lexington Minute Men
The Lexington Minute Men say they "are entrusted to preserve the stories of our nation's first veterans who fought and died during the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775."

The Minute Men currently have some 60 volunteer members, but would like to add another 25. Anyone with a love for American history can apply for membership online at lexingtonminutemen.com.
Membership Requirements and Costs
NBC Boston reported, "It costs about $7,000 to acquire the mandatory clothing, campaign gear, and musket, so to make it more affordable, the Lexington Minute Men have launched a fundraising campaign to provide starter kits to new members, which can be paid for over time."
Fundraising Efforts for New Recruits
The Minute Men say, "To help establish these kits and to support various other recruitment efforts, we have kicked off a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $250,000." They've already raised about half of their goal.
The Lexington Minute Men make appearances throughout the year at events other than the Battle of Lexington.
