Latin America Reacts To Beauty Queen’s Murder
Fans in Latin America and beyond are expressing grief over the shooting death of a Venezuelan beauty queen.
Monica Spear and her ex-husband were gunned down late Monday night by armed robbers while vacationing in Venezuela. Their five-year-old daughter survived the shooting.
Venezuelan salsa singer Oscar D'Leon tweeted, "I'm so sad for my Venezuela. My condolences for Monica Spear's family."
The 29-year-old Spear was a popular soap opera state on Latin American television and a graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
The nonprofit Venezuelan Violence Observatory says one person is killed roughly every 21 minutes in Venezuela. (Metro Networks Inc.)
