Killer Tornadoes Rip Through Midwest
Severe weather erupted through the middle of the country on Sunday. The National Weather Service says at least 60 tornadoes were reported throughout the region, with the most damaging touching down in Illionis.
At least three people were reported killed, and in two communities, the storms destroyed 70 homes. A hospital in Peoria was treating 37 people for injuries sustained in the storm.
In Washington, Illionis, an eyewitness said there was complete destruction in his neighborhood, and people were standing in the streets, crying.
The storms also caused a two hour delay in the Baltimore Ravens-Chicago Bears football game at Soldiers Field. Fans were told to evacuate the stands as the wind and rain moved in.
According to Police, high winds caused at least a half-dozen trucks to overturn on Illionis highways.
