Kevin is a sweet and endearing boy with a healthy curiosity. He's energetic and likes to play soccer and basketball. At 6 years old, he's already faced a great deal of adversity in his short life, but it has not affected his endearing personality.

Kevin enjoys school and does well with the support of an Individualized Education Program.

Kevin, who has developed strong peer relationships, has been placed with relatives of his mother, but they are unable to permanently commit to raising him.  He does well in their home and is an integrated member of the family.

Kevin would do well with a loving and committed family of any makeup with or with other children in the home. Although unable to commit to permanency, his social worker considers his current placement a lifelong connection. Interested families should be open to maintaining that connection. Due to his specific needs, his social worker is only considering families from Massachusetts.

Who Can Adopt?

If you’re at least 18, have a stable source of income and have room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ+ singles and couples. As an adoptive parent, you won’t have to pay any fees. Adoption from foster care is completely free in Massachusetts.

Adopting a child from foster care includes training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you. These steps will help match you with a child or sibling group that will be a good fit.

To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at (617) 964-6273 or visit www.mareinc.org. Start the process today and give a waiting child a permanent place to call home.
