Jehnya is a Fourth-Grader Who Will Melt Your Heart [TUESDAY’S CHILD]

Jehnya is a 9-year-old girl who is looking to be adopted.

"She thinks about it constantly," says her social worker, Danielle Brennan. "She's ready. She asks me about it all the time. She wants a family. I think with the right family, she could be a very good success story."

Jehnya is loving, wise beyond her years and enjoys trying new things.

She is a fourth-grader who loves to be on the go.

"She gives the best hugs you could ask for," Brennan says.

Jehnya's Interests

Some of her favorite hobbies include singing, dancing and playing dress-up. She also likes to watch videos and play games on her iPad. Jehnya is a motivated learner and enjoys going to school. She also attends an after-school program. She is inquisitive and enjoys spending one-on-one time with others.

Her dream is to be adopted by a family and have family movie nights.

She is legally free for adoption and will need to maintain regular contact with her older brother. Jehnya would thrive in a home with patient caregivers who understand trauma. She also needs a family who will use positive reinforcement and provide Jehnya with love.

The ideal family for Jehnya would be a two-parent home with at least one female caretaker. It would also be best for Jehnya to be an only child, but her social worker is open to considering older siblings on an individualized basis. Jehnya has expressed that she would like to be placed with an African-American family.
