Dave Portnoy Reviews This Massachusetts Pizza Place That’s Worth the Drive From Anywhere in New England
Will drive for great pizza, oh yes we will.
I got a text from my Brother John, the OG Yankee Chef, who asked me if I had ever tried this pizza shop in Worcester, Mass. I wanted to ask him why I would have since I live about 2 hours away, but, he knows that I will travel for good 'za, so - fair question.
If You Try This MA Pizza Once, You Will Make the Drive
'I Love Frankie's' is located at 90 Providence Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
John, who has made his share of pizza, told me this might be the best pizza he's ever had in his life. The cheese on the one pictured below bakes into the crust to make it extra crispy and adds wicked good flavor.
The sauce is definitely homemade. John said it was made the way he would do it. Solid comment to be sure.
'I Love Frankie's' Might Be the Best Pizza in More Than Just Worcester
During a visit from the Phantom Gourmet, Dave Portnoy stopped by I Love Frankie's and gave the El Presidente a review, a pie named after Dave's nickname.
Love the Heartwarming Story of This Pizza Place
On the website for I Love Frankie's, there is an article from worcestermag.com explaining how the pizza place came to be. Frank Abbatecola said, "It's all about my daughter."
Frank moved to Worcester to be closer to his daughter and have a close relationship with her.
