From Saugus to the Shore: Kowloon’s First-Ever Expansion
An iconic pan-Asian Massachusetts restaurant is expanding for the first time in its 70-plus year history with an exciting new venue in a very different location.
Saugus' beloved Kowloon restaurant has been a Massachusetts landmark since the 1950s, but this year it will launch its first expansion location and serve its Asian favorites from an equally iconic new spot.
Though the internet wanted us all to believe that a Boston food court was going to be home to a new Kowloon location, it's actually a beachside tiki bar that will serve the restaurant's scorpion bowls and mai tais in 2026.

Though Kowloon has remained a single restaurant for decades, owners now appear ready to expand.
Kowloon Confirms First-Ever Expansion
In breaking news shared in early February, the restaurant confirmed that it will launch a restaurant offshoot on Revere Beach this summer called "Kowloon Tiki on the Beach."

Details on the new beachside restaurant are still pretty light, though Kowloon's spokesperson said an opening date for the Revere restaurant will be announced soon, as well as specifics about what guests to the tiki bar can expect when they come.
Revere Beach Shares Official Announcement
For now, both Kowloon and Revere Beach have announced the exciting new partnership that people seem thrilled about. Revere even used video of Dave Andelman from The Phantom Gourmet to reveal the news on their socials, which was a little ironic.
How the Boston Food Court Rumor Started
Just last month The Phantom Gourmet announced a plan to open a Boston Food Court Experience in the former Time Out Market space, which was said to feature a Kowloon location, too.
That news turned out to be an internet hoax, but it showed how thrilled diners were for a second Kowloon restaurant.

Luckily those diners will still get their wish this summer when "Kowloon Tiki on the Beach" arrives in Revere.
