IPMA Announces Performers for 2020 Show
The International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) are proud to announce the 8th annual IPMA Awards Show to be held at 6:30 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center, in New Bedford.
The 2020 IPMA Show will once again recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry by artists of Portuguese ancestry around the world. As a reminder to those artists, the submission deadline for IPMA 2020 is November 30, 2019 and entries can be submitted via our official website: ipmaawards.com. Songs can be sung in any language.
The show will be filmed for television and aired via the web, on RTP International (RTPi), which has a total viewership of 20 million worldwide, as well as other media outlets.
IPMA 2020 will include the presentation of awards in the following categories:

Rap/Hip-Hop

Traditional
Fado
World Music
Instrumental
People’s Choice

New Talent
Video of the Year

The following artists will be performing at IPMA 2020:
From Canada - Starlight: Luso-Canadian band entertaining international Portuguese communities for over 34 years.
From Portugal - Aurea: Portuguese soul, pop, and blues singer who won MTV Europe Music Awards in both 2011 and 2012. In 2015, she became one of the coaches on The Voice Portugal.
From Portugal - Miguel Gameiro: Portuguese singer/songwriter who made his solo album debut in 2010after nearly two decades as the frontman of Pólo Norte, one of Portugal's premier rock bands of the late '90s.
From Portugal - Dino d’Santiago: Portuguese singer of Cape Verdean descent known for bridging together the traditional Morna, Batuku, and Funaná with contemporary R&B and Global Club Music. He befriended Madonna in Lisbon and helped influence some of the music on her latest album.
From Portugal - Camané: since winning the “Grande Noite de Fado” contest in 1979, he became one of Portugal’s best-known male Fado singers. He has released six albums that have sold over 1 million copies each.
From the United States - Eratoxica: New England-based Portuguese rock band who after 17 years, have released 6 albums and 2 live DVDs. They routinely perform for Luso audiences in Canada, New Jersey, California, Azores, and more.
From Portugal - GNR: a.k.a Grupo Novo Rock, is a legendary Portuguese pop/rock band formed in Portoin 1981. They are one of the pioneers of the Portuguese rock scene and one of the only groups to sell out a stadium, back in 1992 when more than 40,000 attended their concert in Lisbon's Estádio de Alvalade.
