Icing Felonry, Not Family [PHIL-OSOPHY]
President Donald Trump’s decision to send Border Patrol tactical response teams to Boston to assist ICE agents round up immigrants wanted on felony charges has liberal pols complaining across Massachusetts.
They've politicized this move. Like Joe Kennedy, saying that it's based on fear, division and hatred. Well, he might be right if he means the fear and hatred criminals instill in a community. Ed Markey labeled Trump a dictator for doing this, making the country less safe. Well, not quite, sir. In December, when the feds raided two locations in New Bedford's North End as part of a statewide crackdown on the Latin Kings gang, there was a collective feeling of relief.
Law officers were seen taking care of business at 358 North Front Street and 239 Sawyer Street. Did you feel less safe when they cleaned out dozens of members of the Almighty Latin Kings and Queen Nation from our neighborhoods here? Well, Sanctuary Boston, by its own policy, gives safe haven to these felonious criminal immigrants.
This move to make neighborhoods safer comes as the president and U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling called out sanctuary cities for unlawfully not working with federal immigration agents.
Boston's Trust Act is a policy sanctuary cities agree to that bars city police from sharing information on deportation cases. While it's against the law for any city to do this, liberal communities are picking and choosing what laws to follow and what laws to ignore, which makes a mockery of our judicial system.
As it stands, local authorities in sanctuary cities will release felony criminals back into the community, shrugging off detainer requests from ICE. This is unhinged, as is the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision that court and jail authorities are forbidden from holding people for ICE if the suspected illegal immigrant would otherwise be released.
So their actions leave no choice but for the feds to overrule. Since cities like Boston, and other sanctuary cities won't cooperate with federal law agents, the president is right to send in tactical teams to help other agents find and arrest the criminal illegal immigrants. ICE isn't concerned whatsoever with undocumented immigrant families, just the felons, the gang members and the underworld.
And speaking of families, I'll keep praying for the agents who risk their lives and their families. They're risking never going home so that justice can be served, while at the same time the liberal politicians insult and boo them.
