I Wish This Warm Winter Was Completely Man-Made [OPINION]
This has been a great New England winter. It has been a winter without much snow and that is fine with me. I wish it was all because of humans and repeatable.
Obviously human activity has an impact on the environment. And obviously there are other factors that have an impact. Volcanoes have a tremendous impact and they have been around longer than plastic straws and automobiles. We have had ice ages of varying degrees and related warming periods, too.
Everybody needs to relax. You aren't a problem. You aren't destroying the planet. You, me, and all the other humans are as natural as whales, squirrels, trees, fish, and volcanoes. Whales, squirrels, trees, fish, and even volcanoes have adapted to the earth in an effort to survive and prosper as much as humans. You and I are alive today because our ancestors adapted to the earth and the climate. Not in an abstract way but in a real way.
There are people who are terrified that the earth is going to burn up in the next 10 years. We used to call those people doomsday cultists and we ignored them and hoped they snapped out of it. Today, there is a large segment of the Democratic Party that is a doomsday cult.
The media recently interviewed a woman heading to the Democratic Party presidential debate in New Hampshire and she said she believes the eastern seaboard will underwater because of climate change and that is her major issue. I believe she believes what she said and I feel bad for her.
Someone should tell her former President Barack Obama just spent over $10 million of his own money on an oceanfront estate on the island of Martha's Vineyard off the coast on Massachusetts. She would sleep easier if she knew that the last Democrat elected as the leader of the free world wasn't concerned with drowning his entire family and his millions of dollars in a climate change disaster.
