A Westport man faces serious charges after police seize hundreds of firearms from his home.

According to the Standard Times, Westport Police searched 49-year-old Wayne Cinquini's Main Road home on September 17, turning up nearly 300 rifles, pistols and shotguns, hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition, and about 50 pounds of gun powder.

Police say Cinquini had a federal license to sell firearms when he and his business partner owned Village Sports on State Road, but lost the license when the business was sold earlier this year.

Fifty of the guns at Cinquini's home were unregistered. Some of the weapons included a 9mm Sig Sauer pistol, short barrel rifles, a shotgun, and two fully automatic rifles which were unregistered.

Cinquini has been arrested and faces two counts of possession of a covert weapon/short barrel rifle, possession of high capacity law enforcement restricted gun magazines, transferring/selling illegal high capacity gun magazines, and four counts of having an unsecured firearm (one loaded).

Cinquini was arraigned earlier this month in Fall River District Court and released on $5,000 cash bail.
