The man fatally shot Tuesday night in New Bedford was arrested in 2017 for making threats against President Trump.

Forty-one year old Ausarmaat Rahotep was found by police just before 10 pm Tuesday outside 139 Dartmouth Street, suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital but died in the emergency room at 10:16. the District Attorney's Office is releasing no further information at this time.

ABC 6 is reporting that Rahotep was arrested in 2017 while in Florida for making threats against the President. .

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Rahotep called 911 and said he was "headed to Donald Trump with bombs."

Police were able to locate Rahotep and following a chase he was placed under arrest.

He was charged with reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude, and making threats against elected officials.

Rahotep's address was listed in Central Falls, Rhode Island at that time.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says State Police Detectives and local police are actively investigating the Tuesday night homicide.
