Healey Warns of Possible Violence Before 2026 Election
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is suggesting there may be violence before the 2026 midterm elections in November, and she blames her nemesis, President Donald J. Trump.
Healey Warns of Election Violence
During a recent appearance on Boston's WGBH, Healey made some rather bizarre accusations, insinuating that Trump plans to "steal" the election.
"He's going to weaponize every aspect of the federal government to try to steal this election," Healey said. "That's what's gonna happen, and I predict we're gonna see some violence before the election, just to give him an excuse to exercise emergency powers."

Healey, whose name is on the Massachusetts statewide ballot for re-election this fall, didn't offer proof or evidence to substantiate her claim. I doubt WGBH asked her for any. Healey repeated her comments a few days later during a "No Kings" rally on Boston Common, according to the Boston Herald.
Claims of Federal Overreach
"Donald Trump is going to weaponize every agency in the federal government to steal this election," Healey crowed. "We'll see not just ICE agents, but all federal agents are in federal polling places," she added.
The WGBH spiel must have been a warm-up for the rally appearance.
Backtracking on “Election Theft” Remarks
When pressed about her use of the word "steal," State House News Service reported Healey backed away: "Well, what do you think it would be if you actually turn the results of an election away from what they actually were?"
"That, to me, you can call it stealing. You can call it erasing, you can call it invalidating, it doesn't matter," Healey said.
Healey appeared on the PBS station just days after the U.S. Attorney Leah Foley announced a federal investigation into public benefits fraud and voter fraud in Massachusetts.
Ongoing Tensions Over Immigration and ICE
Healey has also sparred with the Trump Administration over ICE arrests and the deportation of criminal illegal aliens, and has proposed laws to protect migrants from ICE.
Healey has also established an online fink-link for residents to report ICE agents they suspect are not following the law.
