Hazen Pegged As New Sox GM

As the disappointing 2015 regular season comes to a close for the Boston Red Sox, they've made their latest move as they build for the future. 

Today, Boston's recently appointed president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, announced his decision to promote the team's assistnat general manager, Mike Hazen, to the role of senior vice president/general manager.

According to a Boston.com report, Hazen has been with the organization for the past 10 years and had held his previous role since the 2012 season.

The 39-year-old was drafted by the San Diego Padres and after spending a couple of seasons in their farm system, he worked in the Cleveland Indians' scouting department.

The move will most likely ensure that the team will be able to retain a number of its front office personnel.
