Old Rochester Regional High School showed major support for the unified basketball team before their first game this week. The team was heading off to play against Middleborough High School. Classmates and teachers came together to line the hallways and cheer the team members on to pump them up before they left.

ORRHS posted a video of the amazing well-wishing and it was awesome.

Members of the community reacted to the post and the video in such a positive way.

"Awesome game. Great job partners & athletes! If you want to experience something uplifting, come check out a United Sports event. They played to a full house today in Middleborough - band, cheerleaders, and all." - Jonathan Craig

"I’m so proud of the ORR Unified Basketball team! They gave it their all tonight and demonstrated a strong example of inclusivity and what it means to be UNIFIED! Great job Bulldogs!" - Becky May

It really feels like ORR not only knows the definition of inclusivity but lives it. Inclusivity exists in moments like these where kindness and genuine care for another person shine brighter than ever. ORRHS's unified teams allow students with special needs and disorders to participate in a team environment and be true athletes. Seeing these kids so excited to play basketball would be one thing, but knowing that their schools are backing them up in a big way brings it to the next level.

The ORRHS Unified Basketball Team will face Dartmouth at ORRHS on Tuesday, October 15 at 3 pm.
