Governor Patrick Names William ‘Mo’ Cowan Interim Senator

Breaking new this morning. After much speculation, Governor Deval Patrick has named William 'Mo' Cowan the interim senator to take John Kerry's seat.

Cowan is the former chief of staff and legal aide to Governor Deval Patrick. This pick will bring a relatively unknown into the spotlight. Cowan left his spot at the Governor's side in 2012 for a private sector.

Governor Patrick is set to make the official announcement at 11 am Wednesday morning. Patrick says that Cowan is 'hardly a stranger to sharp elbows'.
