A proclamation being crafted by City Council President Brian Gomes is calling on the City of New Bedford to take a stand against bullying and discrimination and to take legal action against those who engage in such behavior.

Gomes told WBSM's Brian Thomas on Monday that he wants to see support for this proclamation to spread beyond the borders of the Whaling City.

Gomes says he would like to see the proclamation placed in all city buildings including the public schools.

He also invited Attorney General-Elect Maura Healey to sign the proclamation.
