Fund-Raising Campaign On Target For New Basketball Courts

A fund raising effort to replace the basketball courts at Buttonwood Park is moving ahead. 

The Friends of Buttonwood Park announced Thursday, it had received a $15,000 donation from Baycoast Bank, and donations now total more than $30,000. 

Friends President Anne Eades tells WBSM News, the city's Dept. of Public Infrastructure will also be chipping in....

The project includes new courts, bleachers, lighting and landscaping.  The total cost is estimated to be $150,000. 

Eades expects the "Friends" will reach their fund-raising goal and break ground on the project next spring.
