This week the Fun 107 crew will be hanging out in New Bedford as the GNB Voc-Tech Bears host the Fairhaven Blue Devils in the latest installment of our "Friday Night Lights" coverage.

Both teams enter the Friday showdown with records of 2-2, though they've taken different paths to get there. After losing on the road to start the season, Fairhaven got back-to-back wins, before falling to Bishop Stang last Saturday. The Bears, who entered last week's wet and wild battle with Old Rochester at 1-2, found a way to break free late in the second half and send the Bulldogs packing.

With Voc-Tech on the upswing, after a big win, look for them to come out with a powered rushing attack. Coach Chuck Allaire loves feeding the ball to senior running backs Donovan Hilton and Alex Dixon, as they've both racked up a lot of yards so far this season. Don't sleep on junior running back Michael Devlin, either, as he's shown some nice bursts this year and had a huge touchdown in the Bears' 24-6 win last Friday.

As for the Blue Devils, who are coached by Rudy Bulgar, their offense really struggled last week as they played Stang a day late due to weather issues. Look for the Furtado brothers, Ian and Noah, to each have big games if this Fairhaven offense wants to get back on track. With Ian at quarterback and Noah at running back, both have been leaders of the offense thus far. With either capable of making big plays through the air or on the ground, the Blue Devils will need them to step up.

Prediction: The game, which pits the South Coast Conference rivals against each other for the first time this year, tends to favor the Bears. Coming off of a nice win and getting back home after two straight road contests sounds like a good mix for a Bears team that's 1-0 at home, on the season. Couple that with the tough loss last week for Fairhaven and things are looking up for Voc-Tech. It is Friday night football though, so you never know what you'll see. That's why you should head out to GNB Voc-Tech to check out all the action for yourself.
