
Freetown Police Arrest Man in Drug and Firearms Raid
FREETOWN (WBSM) — Freetown Police arrested one man on drug charges earlier today and are seeking another man in connection following the execution of a search warrant on Chace Road.
According to Freetown Police, members of the department, with the assistance of the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) SWAT Team and SEMLEC detectives, searched the property and found illegal drugs, firearms and other contraband.
Matthew Clark, 32, of Freetown was arrested at the scene on charges of possession of a Class B substance and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
Clark will be arraigned today in Fall River District Court.
Police are also seeking an arrest warrant for Frederick Clark, 46, of Freetown, who was not at the residence at the time of the search. They said the anticipated charges are for three counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and receiving stolen property under $1,200 (subsequent offense).
“The operation caused a temporary disruption to traffic on Chace Road. At no time was there any threat to the safety of the public,” police said in a post to Facebook, thanking “SEMLEC SWAT and SEMLEC Detectives for their assistance in this operation.”
