Foxwoods Moves Up Opening For New Water Park, Again
It's been three years since Foxwoods Resort Casino first announced the addition of a water park to its property in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Now its opening day has been moved for the second time.
The casino is partnering with Great Wolf Lodge on bringing a huge indoor water park to the already entertainment packed property and those who have been waiting to check it out don't have to wait too much longer.
Though construction is still underway on the towering water slides and interactive games, the casino recently announced that it is on track for a soft opening on April 25, 2025.

What Will Be In The New Great Wolf Lodge at Foxwoods?
With over 92,000 square feet of water park, this newest Great Wolf Lodge will feature 13 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and multiple water play areas. There will of course be signature Great Wolf Lodge elements, like the 1,000 gallon tipping bucket, but there will also be things exclusive to the Foxwoods location.

- Pequot Plunge: A family raft adventure, named by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, that seats up to five. Riders climb aboard a raft, then accelerate down a slide into a cone-shaped "tornado," exit into a 360-degree loop, down a long straightaway into a giant bowl that spins them, then finally end with a freefall into the splash channel.
- Rapid Racer: Also new to Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket, this tube slide let's two rides literally race side-by-side with just a low wall between them. Here's even a small uphill during the race" then riders are plunged right back down again.
Other rides to be revealed this spring are the High Paw Holler body slide, Alberta Falls tube ride, Forest Flume body slide, River Canyon Run raft ride, Slap Tail Pond wave pool, Crooked Creek lazy river and the Otter Springs toddler play area.

There will even be outdoor areas for when the weather warms up, like a zero-entry outdoor pool, hot tubs and cabanas (for when mom needs a break!).
Overnight stays will be an option too with a 549-room hotel on the new 13-acre addition.
But Foxwoods and Great Wolf Lodge aren't stopping there. Work is also being done on a 61,000 square foot family entertainment center that will bring an arcade, mini golf, a ropes course and VR experiences to the property as well.
Clearly Foxwoods is gearing up to be a must-visit family destination starting this spring and at this rate, maybe we'll all get a chance to experience it on April vacation from school.
