A former highway surveyor in the Town of Westport has been found guilty of larceny over $250 following a trial in Fall River District Court.

The jury returned the guilty verdict late Thursday against Harold "Jack" Sisson.

The District Attorney's Office says Sisson was convicted of conspiring with a Highway Dept. mechanic to trade in a riding mower without proper documentation, and later asking the equipment supply company to transfer the mower to the mechanic.

Sisson will be sentenced Friday morning in Fall River District Court.
