Former New Bedford Activist Sentenced Up To Ten Years in Child Predator Case

A New Bedford man is sentenced to up to ten years in prison in connection to a child predator case.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 55-year-old David Gould was sentenced to eight to ten years in state prison in Taunton Superior Court for sending hundreds of sexually graphic Facebook messages to a 12-year-old Dartmouth boy in 2012.
Gould was convicted in October of enticing a minor and dissemination of matter harmful to a minor.
In a written statement, Bristol County D.A .Thomas Quinn says "I am very pleased that this child predator will be removed from society."
Gould was the founder of the now-defunct website whalingcity.info. He was also a member of the former activist group Citizens in Action for Progress.
