Fire At New Bedford Tire Company

New Bedford firefighters responded to a fire on Brook St. Thursday night.

Deputy Chief Bob Frates says that at around 9 p.m. crews were dispatched to Bob's Tire at 78 Brook St. for a machine fire.

Frates says it appears that some tires got jammed in a shredding machine causing the machine to overheat and catch fire.

The fire was contained to machine and didn't spread to the rest of the building.

No injuries were reported.
