Fall River Stabbing Suspect in Custody
FALL RIVER — Fall River Police have arrested a Tiverton man in connection to a stabbing in the city last night.
Police said detectives from the department's Major Crimes Division arrested Chance Costa, 24, on Monday after a foot chase and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault to murder.
Costa is suspected of being involved in the stabbing that took place on the 1100 block of Plymouth Avenue in Fall River just before 8 p.m. Sunday night.
Detectives found during an investigation that Costa and the victim are acquaintances, according to police.
Police said the victim suffered numerous stab wounds to his torso and remained in critical condition overnight.
He is now in stable condition and fully conscious.
