
Fall River Police Arrest One, Seek Another in Connection to Shooting
FALL RIVER (1420 WBSM) — Two men face multiple gun charges after a man was shot in Fall River, with one arrested and one still at large.
Fall River Police arrested Gilberto Velazquez-Arce, 24, and seek to arrest Nestly Lewis, 27, in connection with a November 3 shooting in the 300 block of America Street.
The incident happened at about 2:40 p.m. that day, with officers responding to reports of shots fired in the area and arriving to find a man on the ground, bleeding from his stomach after sustaining two gunshot wounds, one to his abdomen and the other to his left arm. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

According to police, investigators located spent shell casings and blood at the scene.
“Detective Adam Talbot learned that moments before the shooting, the victim had engaged in an argument with two males on America Street,” police said. “After a physical altercation occurred with one male, the other male responded by firing several rounds in the direction of the victim.”
Velazquez-Arce was taken into custody by police on November 21 and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, accessory after the fact (assault and battery with a firearm), carrying a loaded firearm in public without license to carry, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
Lewis is charged with assault and battery by discharging a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm in public without a license to carry, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
