The $25 million prize is the largest instant “scratch and win” prize ever offered by the Mass Lottery.

With over $1.2 billion in total prizes and an overall prize payout of 82.0 percent, “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” has the largest amount of total prize money and the highest payout percentage of any game ever offered by the Mass Lottery.

The odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 4.10.

The name of the winner was not released. Instead, Thomas J. Percy, a representative from The Taunton Trust, selected the cash option on its prize and received a one-time payment of $16,250,000 before taxes. The other option was $1.25 million yearly for 20 years, again before taxes.

In a statement, Percy mentioned that the client decided to purchase the $50 ticket after they had made a little extra money that week. He described the winner as a family person, humble and very appreciative.

Red’s will also receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
