TikTok is as wonderous as it is absurd. You never know what you'll find each time you open up the entertaining yet addictive app.

While scrolling along, an interesting video popped up on my FYP (For You Page). Every now and then I'll come across a video pertaining to the SouthCoast and I just so happened to discover one about Fall River.

The TikTok user is dalton_daltoff, also known as "The Proper Masshole," and he is constantly posting videos in which he rates different towns and cities of Massachusetts based on common knowledge and Google Maps.

Fall River was on deck and Mr. Dalton gave the city a spectacular rating of 7 out of 10. Here's how he came to his decision.

Let's recap for a moment because, even though he mentions Durfee High School, The Historic Lizzie Borden House and Battleship Cove,  I'm not quite sure he captures the true essence of Fall River.

For one, there's zero mention of the cotton manufacturing mills that once made Fall River one of the wealthiest cities on the planet. The industry was such a big deal that in 1911, President Taft visited the city for the Cotton Centennial, which marked 100 years of success.

Also, how could he forget Fall River native and king of "Bam!" Emeril Lagasse. How about the filming of Jungleland and Don't Look Up, two major motion pictures?

The Oriental Chow Mein Company, whose Hoo-Mee brand of noodles are a staple in New England restaurants?

And who could leave out the Gates of the City, Portas da Cidade, an impressive replica of the landmark in the Azores?

And then there's the Quequechan, which translates to "Falling River." Did you know this mighty body of water flows underneath the city and empties out into Mount Hope Bay?

You do now.

Final Fun Facts: Fall River briefly changed its name to Troy, its slogan is "We'll Try" and, although overshadowed by New Bedford's annual Feast of the Blessed Sacrament, has some Portuguese feasts of its own.

I appreciate the effort, but had The Proper Masshole done a little more homework, maybe he would have given the city an even better rating. Perhaps a perfect 10.

Mic drop.
