Police have requested an arrest warrant for a man from Dorchester who is wanted for threatening to shoot a teenager during a prearranged meeting to buy sneakers in Fall River.

According to The Herald News, the victim, which was a 16-year-old boy, “told police that the incident occurred after he was beaten and robbed of $650 that he had brought with him to purchase two pairs of Air Jordan “Space Jam” sneakers.”

Fall River police detectives stated that they have an arrest warrant for the suspect, 30 year-old, Angelo Silva, of Dorchester.

On Sunday, at 10:16pm, Fall River police officers were flagged down by the victim, who had run into Dave’s Pizza at 873 Globe Street stating that he had just been robbed at gunpoint.

“The armed robbery occurred on Rock Street and the teen told police that a friend had picked him up at 9:45pm for the teen to purchase the sneakers. The alleged victim stated that once he handed over the money, the acquaintance told the teen that he would not be getting the sneakers. When the teen demanded his money back, the acquaintance and another man in the vehicle, which appeared to be Silva, refused to hand over the money, and assaulted the teen.”

The teen then fought back, but Silva exited the vehicle, reached into this pants waistband, and pulled out a gun.

The suspect told the teen that “this money is mine, (expletive), and I’ll clip you right now.”

Silva was described to be a black male, about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, with dark hair and a goatee.

An investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fall River Police Department’s Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796, or call the police department’s anonymous tips line at 508-672-TIPS.
